Apollo Stakes:
At Rosehill the main race is the Group Two Apollo Stakes (Race 6). Once again Hot Danish, Love Conquers All and Centennial Park do battle and our traders think that the form out of the Expressway stakes is nothing to get excited about. Love Conquers All still needs the sting out of the ground and Hot Danish may finally have gone cold and could be over the hill at seven years old and is a definite lay. Melito resumes and if Gerald Ryan has her ready to run seven furlongs first up then she is the one that can beat them all. Danleigh won this race last year and will be fitter so expect him to be in the placings, while Once Were Wild is the best ‘roughie’. The blinkers go on first up so the stable is setting him for an immediate result.

Triscay Stakes:
The Triscay Stakes (Race 7) run over 1200 metres is a terrific race and apart from the favourite Kiss From A Rose is a wide open affair. She has the blinkers on, has trialed well and she is absolutely primed to win first up. She will be very hard to beat here. More Strawberries is a three year old giving the other mares weight and our traders think she will need a run first before popping the champagne. Early money has “trimmed†Trim if you pardon the pun (12.00 into 8.00) and the stable is on fire. Bacchanal Woman was a surprise winner first up last prep and it wouldn’t be a surprise to see her do it again and she is the best value in the race.

North Ryde RSL Handicap:
The early interest will be in Race Two, a very progressive race with many of the three year olds likely to make their way through to Group racing. The Snowden camp seems to have a bottomless pit of talented youngsters and Beltane is a ‘belter’. Our traders are expecting him to get an ideal run just in behind the speed and make it a hat-trick of wins. Halekulani is placed a Group level and represents his biggest danger while Exploitable Doubt has plenty of ability and is capable of winning from the front. Our traders have a healthy respect for La Remlap and if she wasn’t drawn out wide would be a lot shorter in the market.
